Teyana Taylor (33) is one in all the newest stars to go to court over child custody issues. In the newest report received by TMZthe singer and actress has asked a toddler psychologist to testify in her ongoing divorce proceedings from her ex, Iman Shumpert.
Taylor would really like a toddler psychologist to testify that the NBA player had a friend and the lady’s daughter stay overnight during his weekend visits with their daughters, 8-year-old Junie and 3-year-old Rue. He accuses Shumpert of misleading their girls by putting an unidentified woman there overnight. The singer and actress said she came upon concerning the woman and her daughter being there because she saw and heard them within the background during a FaceTime call. The former NBA player also allegedly took his children and a friend to SkyZone, an amusement park for kids.
Additionally, Taylor claims that Junie, their oldest daughter, was “confused” to see her dad sharing a bed with this friend. In the filed documents, the actress claimed that her ex-boyfriend explained to Juna that the friend stayed with him because her house was “broken.”
Taylor’s goal within the filing is for Shumpert to refrain from having the lady round her children on the weekends she spends with them – the primary and third weekend of every month, in addition to on select Fridays. The 33-year-old wants a toddler psychologist to testify because she says Shumpert doesn’t realize what an impact it is going to have when she brings her friend to her daughters.
There can also be one other issue. Taylor claims Shumpert withdrew nearly $4 million from multiple joint accounts. For this reason, he requests the testimony of a financial expert.
The first couple married in 2016 while she was pregnant with Junie. She filed for divorce in January 2023. While the split appeared to begin amicably – Taylor even told fans, “Not so much my friend” when news of their separation spread – (which happened before people realized that she has already filed for divorce). Things have gone from bad to worse since then.
The first couple initially kept their divorce secret, providing only their initials within the documents. However, the previous NBA player began using full names in his court filings, making the case public.
Taylor accused Shumpert of being insecure about her fame, treating her cruelly, and claims she was the victim of “extreme narcissistic behavior” throughout their marriage. The athlete asked to alter the rationale for divorce to “irreversible severance of ties.” In the lawsuit, Taylor also accused her ex of kid neglect and infidelity, though she told the general public that infidelity wasn’t the rationale for his or her split in November.
