Karen Pittman says goodbye to the world of Carrie Bradshaw.

The 37-year-old actress is leaving the forged of HBO Max’s “And Just Like That” ahead of its third season. Pittman starred as Dr. Nya Wallace, a school professor at Columbia Law School, within the revival series “Sex and the City,” by which her character handled a breakup and newfound freedom as a single woman.

HBO Max announced the news in an announcement to Diversity.

“It was a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning Professor Nya Wallace in the first two seasons of ‘And Just Like That,'” a spokesperson for Max told the newspaper. “As much as we are delighted to be working with this dynamic actress, we are as happy as others. With her involvement in two other streamer series, it became clear that filming three series at once was not possible.”

The statement to Variety went on to say that “we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue working with the character for the third season of And Just Like That.” Karen and Nya will be missed, and Max’s family and fans will be cheering her on in her remaining endeavors.”

Pittman’s other acting commitments include a starring role on “The Morning Show,” by which she stars within the Apple TV+ series as TV producer Mia Jordan, and an upcoming role on Netflix’s “Forever,” which is Mara Brock Akil’s adaptation of the Judy Blume novel.

Pittman has yet to comment on her departure from And Just Like That, but fans were quick to react to the news on social media, criticizing HBO Max for underutilizing the actress.
