Over the weekend, stars – musicians, designers and models – took over Instagram, presenting makeup trends. Some reminded us of experimental styles reminiscent of the young Grace Jones or Mary J. Blige from the 90s. Meanwhile, others were categorical departures, turning beauty right into a recent era concept. We’ve seen every thing from sexy looks and overt beauty references to neoclassical hairstyles… so take notes.

First of all, comfortable thirtieth birthday to designer Mowalola Ogunlesi as she celebrated the recent 12 months with a brand new look. Her hairdresser Louis Souvestre (known for her prototypical FKA Twigs styles), standing straight on a ragged blonde wig with fringe inspired by a sickle weapon. To proceed the weekend festivities, Grammy winner Tyla showed off her jeweled smile while tossing bottles into her recent debut album titled.

Makeup artist Saint Laurah turned Doechii into Grace Jones as she hung a cigarette over her glossy, glossy lips (think: Isamaya Beauty Transparent metallic balm.) Her charming facial expression – long eyelashes and sharp eyebrows – accomplished her appearance as a swamp princess. On the other hand, Ming Lee Simmons styled her hair in a fan bun. The updo brought out her romantic makeup: sculpted, flushed cheeks and an appropriately thin cat eye.

At the end of the weekend, the face of Mugler fragrance, Anok Yai, delivered to our attention a new edition of the trendy bob; flipping the bangs and ends right into a half-look. The elegant double-wing liner didn’t hurt either.

In case you missed it, take a have a look at the eight star-studded moments you need to see over the weekend.
