Madonna’s ongoing “Celebration” tour is currently taking the “Express Yourself” singer all over the world and providing a glance back at her decades-long profession. In one a part of the tour, the singer pays tribute to those that lost their lives to AIDS, and stars corresponding to Freddie Mercury, Keith Haring and Sylvester appear in on-screen photos as she sings the song “Live to Tell”. Over the weekend, Vandross’ image was “suddenly included” within the montage, prompting the estate’s management to request its removal.

“Luther Vandross died in 2005 from complications following a stroke he suffered two years earlier,” said a representative of the estate in statement to the ability. “While we appreciate Madonna’s acknowledgment of the lives lost to AIDS, Luther was NEVER diagnosed with AIDS or HIV. We are not sure where she or her production team received false medical information claiming otherwise.”
