‘Married to Medicine’ Star’s Husband Dr. Simone Opens Up After Fans Spotted Him Posing in Freaknik Documentary

Married to Medicine fans have long thought Cecil Whitmore was great fun, but now they’ve proof of just how wild his party days could possibly be. Cast member Dr. Simone Whitmore’s husband was exposed, so to speak, when viewers noticed his cameo in the brand new Hulu documentary “Freaknik: The Wildest Story Never Told.”

The project chronicles the event’s growth from humble beginnings as an annual HBCU picnic launched in 1983 to a citywide event held in the mid-Nineties, in addition to its cultural impact and lasting legacy.

Cecil appears in his photograph, and his two friends are shown in the film. “Mr. Cecil, is that you from Freaknik?” asked user X on March 21, the day the series premiered on the streaming network.

The former IT director confirmed that this was what fans saw. “You got me!!! This is the OG Freaknik from back in the 90’s. @eugeneharrislll and I are working on our podcast, we’re going to talk about it!!!” He he wrote. The photo in query was taken at a 1988 cooking event that, on the time, was still student-focused.

He later clarified that the podcast wouldn’t be about Freaknik, but about every kind of life moments. At this time, plans to launch the podcast haven’t been finalized as each Cecil and his castmate Dr. Eugene Harris, Toya Bush-Harris’s husband, determine how to stand out in a saturated industry.

Still, once the painting became a fun topic of debate amongst viewers, Cecil sent, “Since @MobzWorld kicked me on #FreaknikOnHulu. Here’s to another 1989 with my brother @dgolfer25!” The photo shows a smiling David Whitmore, his wife and Cecil, with crowds of others fraternizing behind them as they cook.

None of the lewd activities most individuals know Freaknik for are captured in memory. Cecil also shared two additional photos that weren’t included in the series in an Instagram post in which he again emphasized that his Freaknik party took place “before the madness.”

“You are officially the coolest husband in Bravo history!!” he wrote one user. Several other people have asked concerning the identity of the unnamed woman, although no answer has yet been provided. However, it didn’t take long for people to start asking about Dr. Simone, who can be shown with Cecil in the third photo.

“I didn’t know Simone in that Freaknik. But we met at the subsequent one,” her husband of 27 years wrote in response to questions on his performance. The Spelman alumna provided further context for her presence by posting the identical photo of herself and the Morehouse alumna on the 1989 event.

Cecil and Simone have been married since 1997 and have two sons, Michael and Miles. Some of the difficult moments in their relationship played out on the Bravo reality show. In 2018, the “M2M” couple was headed for divorce as their relationship was strained by tensions and a breakdown in communication.

By the time of the third season 5 reunion special, they announced that these plans were on hold as they sought counseling and worked to restructure their marriage. The entire solid got here together to talk them out of a divorce.

During the Season 10 reunion, they each seemed stronger than before.
