Watch: New Edition’s Mike Bivins talks about the importance of the 2024 elections | The Hill with April Ryan

This week’s edition of theGrio Magazine’s “The Hill With April Ryan” highlights the efforts of the Congressional Black Caucus amid a litany of legal battles over diversity, equity and inclusion in public schools in states like Alabama, Florida, Texas and Utah. CBC also advocates for the Crown Act after a Texas highschool suspended Darryl George, a black teenager, for wearing his natural hair. Additionally, The Hill examines a police brutality case involving six Mississippi State Police officers, generally known as the “Goon Squad,” convicted of the racist torture of two black men. As part of Women’s History Month, we’re also highlighting a book about the taboo topic of menopause and its impact on black women. Finally, theGrio caught up with New Edition and BBD’s Mike Bivins at the fifty fifth Annual NAACP Image Awards. The music star discussed the importance of civic engagement during the election season.
