Interview with the Vampire returns with a trailer for season two
The long wait for “Interview with the Vampire” fans is over. The critically acclaimed adaptation of Anne Rice’s beloved novel returns for a second season this spring, and AMC has just released the first trailer for the upcoming episodes.
The AMC series stars Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, the legendary hero of Rice’s novel and subsequent Nineties film adaptation. While the series closely follows the source material, its minor tweaks have been welcomed by fans and critics alike as they barely change the story by making Du Lac a wealthy black queer man in New Orleans in the early twentieth century. In addition to the iconic characters of Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia (played by Bailey Bass in Season 1 and Delainey Hayles in the upcoming season), the series is a hypnotic and exciting horror series.
According to the official synopsis for season two, “the interview continues.” It reads: “In the 12 months 2022, vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Anderson) tells his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Bogosian). Referring to the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940, when Louis and fledgling teenager Claudia (Hayles) plotted to kill the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Reid), Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, his expedition to find Old World vampires and the Theater of Des Vampires in Paris with Claudia.

“It is in Paris that Louis first meets the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman),” reads the synopsis. “Their courtship and romance will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, as Molloy tries to uncover truths buried in memories.”
Last 12 months, Anderson spoke to us about his connection to the source material, saying: “I’ve read the first two books and I find the way Anne Rice talks about these characters incredibly human. It’s felt very, very deeply… it’s about the feeling of being a human being who’s struggling with himself or asking questions on himself and his mark on the world around him.
The second season of Anne Rice’s “Interview with the Vampire” will premiere on May 12, 2024.
