Godfrey was asked about this during an appearance on “Club Shay Shay” with Shannon Sharpe, which aired on March 20. In January, he went viral for his impression that Harvey was apparently reacting to Katt Williams’ scolding on the same platform.

But that was his impersonation during his 2019 episode podcast“In Godfrey We Trust” which hilariously racked up over 3 million views and went viral. Sharpe asked Godfrey if Harvey was upset by this impression.

“I read he wasn’t thrilled about it.” he said Sharpe. After noticing that Harvey had once given him good advice about working in the industry, Godfrey told a story related to this funny impression.

“Let’s go back to the events of about four years ago. I’m taking part in my podcast – “In Godfrey We Trust” on the GaS digital network, by the way. he said comedian at 30 minutes. “So the guy I was co-hosting with said something, he answered the question very quickly, like he was going crazy. I said, “Damn, this isn’t a family feud,” and I was like, “Yeah, what are you… saying?” I said, ‘You’re stupid and I’ll answer,’ so I did it on a few bulls – right? And the next day everyone was like, “your shit is going viral.”

The Cookout star went on to say that many comedians called him to let him know that his impressions had gone viral. The 54-year-old added that Harvey texted him after seeing the impression, and Godfrey made one other hilarious impression while telling the story.

“That’s how it went, it went viral and Steve texted me,” Godfrey explained before using his Steve voice. “He says, ‘Boy, once I see you, I’m going to kick your ass.’ I only hear his voice in the text. “Oh, you pissed me off, boy. I’ll inform you this now, I’m from Cleveland. I do not know if you happen to know me.

“Steve, I hope you can see this imitation, because you can, boy,” Godfrey continued. “He said, ‘I’ll inform you. God blessed me. You see, I used to be sleeping in the automobile. I did not have any rattling money, but now I actually have it, boy. I’ll find your ass.

After Sharpe asked if Godfrey had ever done such an impression of the “Original Kings of Comedy” star, he replied, “Hell no,” before moving on to one other impression of Harvey on the game show. “The five best answers on the board. Here’s the query. Name something Steve should do to Godfrey when he sees his ass. Jesus, his ass. Answer primary, boy. Yes.”

Godfrey went on to say that he perfected his Harvey impression by watching hours of “Family Feud” while he was on the road and did not have many cable channels. You can watch the full “Club Shay Shay” interview below.
