After announcing her highly anticipated fourth studio album Please Don’t Cry, three-time Grammy nominee Rapsody returns with a candid interview with her close friend and renowned actress Sanaa Lathan.
In this new video, Rapsody delves into “Straighten up” a conversation with Lathan, during which she talked about her anxiety, past gossip, weaknesses, personal struggles, childhood upbringing and newfound practices that helped her mature.
“During the pandemic, I spent a lot of time behind the wheel,” Rapsody said in the video. “I took 6-7 trips and spent a lot of time alone listening to Lauryn Hill’s Unplugged. In one introduction she said, “I’ve run out of fantasies.” I need to live in reality because people need what’s real. It inspired me not just for myself but additionally for the connection I even have with other people. You must be your authentic, true self. We are all mirrors to ourselves and folks cannot connect with you and see themselves in you in case you hide and are anything aside from your authentic self… I just desired to be real.
Rapsody initially launched its campaign with the lead single “Asteroids” featuring Hit-Boy. The 22-track album also features appearances from artists equivalent to , , , and , and more.
