Storm Reid to star in Teyana Taylor-directed ‘Get Lite’

According to a. Multilingual Teyana Taylor will make her directorial debut in the upcoming film Exclusive. The film stars star and Emmy winner Storm Reid. In addition to starring in the production, Reid may also co-produce the film under his own imprint, A Seed & Wings Productions, in addition to Kenya Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society.
The film tells the story of a young person from New York whose life takes a dramatic turn when he falls in love with a magnetic beatmaker (played by Reid). She convinces him to join her Litefeet dance crew, which leaves her with a dilemma: should she deal with her studies or pursue her renewed passion for dancing.
On the production side, there are many strong players on the film, with Barris and Reid teaming up with OFFBRND’s Bill Karesh, A Seed & Wings Productions’ Robyn Simpson and Anni Weisband as producers on the film. Taylor will function executive producer and Coco Gilbert will function co-producer. Eric Gross is about to write the script.
The film adds one other success to Taylor’s growing resume – she most recently starred in the film, which premiered on the 2023 Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim. For Reid, in addition to her recent Emmy win, she has also been involved in several ventures, including a collaboration with Coca-Cola to launch a brand new flavor of the drink, in addition to an appearance on , where Reid played Debra.
