EXCLUSIVE Clip: Kim Fields Directs Episode 11 of NBCU’s ‘Extended Family’

While it’s possible you’ll already know her from her roles on cult shows like , and , Kim Fields can be a dynamic force behind the lens.

The actress, director and entrepreneur has been sitting within the director’s chair for a very long time. Today, he directs the eleventh episode of the NBCU comedy, which looks at what happens when divorce brings a family even closer.

The plot of the series tells the story of Jim and Julia, who, after an amicable divorce, determine to proceed raising their children at home, taking turns depending on who will stick with them. The co-parenting waters develop into a little bit rougher for Jim when Trey, owner of the Boston Celtics, enters the image and wins Julia’s heart.

In this episode, “The Consequences of Writing Things Down,” Jim perfects his yoga skills to impress a lady, which results in Julia stepping in to save lots of him from looking like a whole idiot. Check out the clip below:

“We shot this episode just before Christmas and working with this wonderful cast and crew was truly a gift!” Fields tells ESSENCE. “It’s also the perfect episode for me to direct involving yoga, having just come back my wellness retreat!”

This episode, directed by Fields, will air March 12 on NBC at 8:30 p.m.
