These intriguing discoveries were provided by Jaime Seale, writer of this report. The study, conducted by Clever Real Estate, surveyed 2,000 U.S. adults who moved in 2023, shedding light on their experiences.

At the identical time, the highest reasons for Blacks moving were lower cost of living/home prices (23%), higher quality of life reminiscent of higher weather and recreational opportunities (20%), and living closer to family and friends (18%). %).

Another finding revealed that 40% of Black Americans shed tears through the relocation process, and 35% of them experienced conflict with family members through the process.

When it comes to costs, 47% of black Americans spent $1,500 or more on moving. That’s lower than the price (50%) of all Americans surveyed who spent at the least $2,000 last 12 months.

About 53% of Americans incurred unexpected costs during their move, and 54% say their total moving expenses were higher than expected. The lack of closer consideration of those costs may explain why Americans (33%) say they have not properly budgeted for his or her move.

The report revealed that DIY moving corporations (35%) say they’ve not hired skilled moving corporations because they are too expensive, while (17%) say they don’t trust moving corporations. And yet in the world (24%) of individuals moving alone regret not hiring a moving company.

To help reduce moving costs, Seale offered some suggestions:

  • “Prices can vary greatly from company to company, so be certain to check multiple estimates to ensure you are getting the very best deal.
  • “Movers typically charge based on weight or volume, so getting rid of some items you don’t need or want in your new home can help reduce costs.”
  • “Before you purchase boxes and packing materials, use items you have already got. For example, fill suitcases or plastic tubs you have already got, and use clothing or blankets to wrap any breakable items.
