Presidential hopeful Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) calls it like she sees it, and she or he says the Trump administration is waging a “campaign of terror” against immigrants on this country.

How reports, Harris, in a wide-ranging interview, asked the present administration about last week’s horrific ICE raids in Mississippi that resulted within the arrest of 680 undocumented staff.

“I don’t know why they did what they did… I don’t know why they decided to do it right after El Paso,” Harris said, referring to the mass shooting in Texas that targeted the Latino community and left 22 people dead. “Employers must be responsible and do everything the law requires. But there’s another issue, Chuck, which is that this administration has directed DHS to conduct these raids as part of what I believe is a campaign of terror by this administration that is designed to make entire populations of people afraid to go to work. Children are afraid to go to school for fear that when they come home their parents will not be there.”

Harris told host Chuck Todd that she didn’t think there was anything the administration or president could do to reassure Latino Americans.

“I do not think it could be real if he did that. And I believe persons are smart enough to know that,” she said.

Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan, who also participated within the discussion, acknowledged that the timing of the raid “was unfortunate” and said a plan was already in place before the El Paso terrorist attack.

“Something like this has been planned for over a year,” he said. “This is an investigation covered by 14 federal warrants issued by a judge and ICE had to continue it.”

So last week, a whole lot of children were left unattended on the primary day of school in Mississippi and their parents were taken away without their knowledge. One video appeared online showing a bit girl crying for her father.

According to , the community tried to rally across the little children, and everybody from strangers to neighbors volunteered to take them in.

The next day, about half of those arrested got trial dates. However, it’s noted that none of the officials on the plants who hired illegal staff were arrested.

McAleenan claimed this was since the investigation was ongoing.

“You get a warrant from a federal judge with probable cause. Then go to the location and collect evidence. And then you work with the Department of Justice and the U.S. attorney to look at the appropriate charges to see what the next course of action will be,” he said.
