“All this apparently joined in a very short order and I think that the promoters saw the opportunity to promote the event on the backs of people who simply suffered an unimaginable loss. It’s simply disgusting. They owe their apologies to the family,” Murrill told the WRRZ press station. “If they would like to do this, the first people they should ask about, then the family. Nobody tried to put money on a scholarship; Boosie did not even finance it.”

It just isn’t clear how much money, if in any respect, was placed in the scholarship fund.

Boosie doesn’t agree with the view that he used the death of Caleb Wilson as a promotional tool, claiming that he would never use the student’s death to sell tickets for the concert. The rapper claimed that the event was pushed from the end of 2024. He even claims that he was asked for help, and the threat of legal actions is a betrayal, considering what he tried to do.
