The 67th Grammy Awards have already been prepared for the night of unforgettable moments, but a story was created when the name of Doechia was called to the best rap album. When the crowd exploded, it sat frozen for a moment, the burden of the moment settled. She officially strengthened her place in Hip-Hopie-I History music.
Presented by Cardi B, the award meant a breakthrough achievement – Doechia became only a third woman who won in this category, following the footsteps of the two best in the industry. When she got here to the stage, her emotions flickered her face – shock, joy and gratitude.
Taking the microphone, she agreed and talked with conviction. “I don’t want to do so long, but this category was introduced in 1989, and three women won: Lauryn Hill, Cardi B … and doechia.” The audience broke out.
She continued and her voice is fat with emotions. “I exposed my life in this mixtape. I went so much. I devoted myself to sobriety, and God told me that he was rewarding me – he told me that he would show me how good it could be. “She thanked her mother, team, her label and swamps, a loyal fan base that raised her to that moment.
Before leaving the stage, she turned to the cameras. “To every black girl watching: you can do it,” said Doechia. Do not let anyone say otherwise. You are exactly who you might have to be. “
