Black-owned brand LFJ debuts at Thailand Fashion Week

LFJ Juliet Olanipekun made its runway debut at Thailand Fashion Week, the primary Black-owned fashion brand to accomplish that.

LFJ showcased its vibrant products at the Spring/Summer 2025 show in Bangkok. Olanipekun, who founded the brand in 2020, shared the news on her Instagram, showing off her muscular physique. In the post, the artistic director noted how her inclusion in fashion week broke down barriers to creating history.

“LFJ is proud to be the first-ever Black-owned brand to debut during @thailandfashionweek,” Olanipekun wrote within the caption. “Our vibrant collection celebrates culture, craftsmanship and the bold pursuit of dreams. Performing in Asia has been a vision we have been pursuing for a long time, and this milestone reminds us that dreams truly do come to life, and new doors are waiting for all of us to break them down.”

Thailand Fashion Week has turn into a gathering place for emerging and well-known designers, especially international ones. International trade fairs held twice a 12 months presents fashion from avant-garde to couture collections.

This milestone is especially significant for Olanipekun as an African designer. As she seeks to expand her own brand’s audience, she hopes to spark change on a worldwide scale and rejoice diversity in the style industry, especially amongst Black creators.

Many fashion platforms have praised LFJ for its revolutionary clothes linked to cultural elements. However, the debut in Thailand pursues a brand new goal. Olanipekun has also stayed true to her Nigerian roots and recently selected to indicate her clothes in Lagos as a substitute of New York Fashion Week.
