Gabrielle Union denies rumors about plastic surgery
Gabrielle Union is clearly aging before our eyes. Although plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures are common in Hollywood, the actress says the key to an impressively ripped face is the hairstyle.
During a promotional event for Union and her longtime stylist Larry Sims Simstyled x JCPenney Salon Experiencethe actress and best-selling writer put an end to online speculation that she had undergone a facelift.
“A high ponytail for a woman of a certain age is like a face lift” – actress he told People magazine. “Although there is speculation about what is or isn’t happening to my face, can’t you miss six months to get a face lift – which I’ve never missed for six months; do it right.”
Union, who is thought for her hairstyles on and off the red carpet, explained how very high and really low ponytails can create different face-lifting effects.
“All you need is a high ponytail — (and it) costs you nothing,” she added, sharing her appreciation for the timelessness of this hairstyle.
Throughout her profession, Union has championed daring authenticity. In October, the Being Mary Jane star celebrated her 52nd birthday with an attractive photo montage. In Instagram post celebrating the brand new milestone, Union emphasized the self-love that comes with age.
“This is 52. This is a grown woman’s shit,” she captioned the carousel post with photos. “It’s accountability when you fail… being gracious when others fail… being open to when you’re wrong and being proud and confident when you’re right. It is love with passion and without apology. These are clear and strong boundaries. This is sexy. This is brave. It’s fun and full of wild adventures. It’s calling a thing a thing rather than giving in to the Okey Doke and demanding something better. It’s being alone without being lonely. This is enjoying nature. It’s raw and compassionate motherhood. This is a fight for my people and yours. This is me at 52, loving myself EVERYTHING.”
While Union hasn’t had a facelift, she has previously talked about trying cosmetic treatments like Botox and PRP facials, through which a blood sample is taken and reapplied to the skin. As she said Harper’s Bazaarshe is a believer in doing what makes you’re feeling best.
“Honey, what someone else does doesn’t affect the price of my bills. That’s why I think everyone should do what they want – if you like it, I love it. I’ve tried all kinds of shit for myself. Some things don’t work – for example, my body absorbs Botox like Skittles, so it’s not an option for me because it doesn’t last long. But it’s a very personal thing – it’s your face. Whatever feels best to you, you should do it,” Union said of plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures. “I’m the last one that would judge anyone for what they do for his or her body and the way they live. Again, if you happen to prefer it, I adore it… When I used to be young, I desired to appear like other people, but now I need to appear like me.
