Jamie Foxx is back – able to bring laughs along with his highly anticipated stand-up special. The hour-long event, which premieres December 10 on Netflix, marks the legendary artist’s triumphant return to the stage as Foxx reflects on life, near-death experiences and every little thing in between.

The special, directed by Hamish Hamilton, will showcase Foxx’s signature humor and resilience. The trailer released today hints at the private topics the comedian will tackle. In an emotional moment within the video, Jamie stares into the group and says, “I’m back.”

In April 2023, the Texas-born artist faced a life-threatening medical emergency that left him within the hospital for nearly three weeks. While details of his condition remain private, the Oscar and Grammy winner plans to debate the situation within the special, saying earlier this yr that he desired to “do it in a fun way.” Shot over three nights in Atlanta, the show also touches on the tremendous support Foxx received during his recovery.

This is Foxx’s first stand-up special in over twenty years, with Netflix securing the rights in a competing deal. Fans may also see it on Stream , an motion comedy starring Cameron Diaz that may premiere on January 17, 2025.
