Angel Reese named 2024 FNAA Influencer of the Year says: “This is just the beginning”
WNBA star Angel Reese may already be an enormous success, but – as she reminded the audience at the thirty eighth… Awards for FN achievements Wednesday night is just getting began. The Chicago Sky forward received the FN Style Influencer of the Year award at the annual awards ceremony held at Cipriani South Street in New York City, presented by fellow Reebok ambassador, musician Tobe Nwigwe.
“I am here to present the FN Style Influencer of the Year award to a woman who has had a monumental year,” Nwigwe said. “She is a WNBA star, we are both part of the Reebok family, she is an entrepreneur, a fashion influencer and an inspiration to the next generation. He conducts himself uncompromisingly on and off the court. She continues to carve out her own place in the world, and fans around the world have embraced her for her honest personality, authenticity and dedication to the game.”
While all of this praise is true, it’s equally true that at 22, Reese is still gaining confidence in maturity, let alone as a rising and sometimes struggling star on the court. As “Bayou Barbie” thanked her family for his or her steadfast support during her thanks speech, per Footwear newsReese also gave a nod to sponsor Reebok, which already produced her Reebok by Angel collection and plans to debut her signature shoe in 2026.
“I want to thank Reebok so much for believing in me and bringing my vision to life, for everything I have ever wanted to do with them and continue to do,” she said. “My dreams have already come true. They gave me a platform to be myself, without apology.”
Undeniably, Reese has made a big impact on the WNBA’s growing profile, which has attracted record-breaking attention in a season through which she, Caitlin Clark, Rickea Jackson and several other other newcomers brought a brand new and unprecedented fan base to the 28-year-old player in the old league. In addition to becoming co-owner of an expert women’s soccer team, Reese even boasts her own fan group called “Reese’s Pieces,” earning her a limited-edition contract with parent company Hershey.
Nevertheless, as the basketball star himself suggests, Angel Reese has something to look ahead to.
“I’m 22,” she reminded the audience on Wednesday night. “I still can’t cope with life, but it’s just the beginning”
