As we head into the vacation season, Netflix is set to release a big selection of movies, series and specials showcasing Black talent and stories. From classic comedies to driving dramas, this December you will find a wealthy number of entertainment celebrating black culture and narratives.
Notable new releases this month include Tyler Perry’s period drama, Queen Latifah on the show, and Jamie Foxx’s new stand-up special. Whether you are in the mood for laughter, inspiration or thrilling motion, this month’s lineup has something for everybody. Eddie Murphy stars in this family comedy as Charlie Hinton, a father who decides to open a daycare center after losing his job.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson takes on the darker role of Driver, an ex-con on a mission to avenge his brother’s death.

In this imaginative comedy, Regina Hall plays Jordan Sanders, a tech mogul transformed into her 13-year-old self, played by Marsai Martin. Issa Rae plays April, Jordan’s overworked assistant who becomes her confidant on this unexpected journey.

Idris Elba stars as Roland Deschain, the last gunslinger, in the difference of Stephen King’s epic series.

Written, directed by and starring Chris Rock, this comedy-drama tells the story of Andre Allen, a comedian scuffling with his profession and personal life. Rosario Dawson stars as Chelsea Brown, and the film stars Gabrielle Union, Kevin Hart, amongst others.
30 for 30 Collection – (12/2)
This acclaimed ESPN documentary series highlights sports’ biggest moments and figures. The most vital are:
