Kyrie Irving’s shocking phone call with his agent regarding a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers sent fans into a frenzy
Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving recently broke the web after announcing that he had been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers during an appearance on Kai Cenat’s “Mafiathon 2” Twitch livestream.
During the Thanksgiving broadcast, Cenat set the stage for Irving.
“You were traded to the Lakers. It’s you, Bron, Bronny, Anthony Davis. You get up today. You were traded to the Lakers. Here we go.” Cenat starts playing some somber music, and Irving reaches into his pocket for his phone and gets into character.
He sighed before pretending to answer the phone. “Hello,” he said, adding a pause before saying, “Yes, I can talk, brother.”
Pretending to talk to his agent, who gives him the news that he’s been sold, Irving says, “Well, it’s gone? All right. So what’s your next move, brother? Am I leaving? What time? They said what? This will be Los Angeles. I see. All right.”
Irving continues the fake phone call, pretending there’s a problem with his salary.
“How much do they pay? The number is incorrect,” he said.
Pausing briefly, he pretends the agent is answering the phone and says, “It’s Los Angeles. What are you talking about? Come on, man, you have got to try harder. So you are telling me it isn’t guaranteed. But you already know my body. You know my CV.
“You know what the hell I did in this league,” Irving continued animatedly. “You cannot be disrespectful now, man. So you wish me to show up tomorrow and that is the way you treat me? You know what? I’ll make you respect me. I’ll go in there and outwork everyone. And this time. No fucking regrets. See you tomorrow.
Fans who didn’t watch the entire stream due to context reacted with shock as viral video clips circulated on TikTok.
One fan he asked in response to the clip reposted on the Three20 Clip website: “Is this true or has it actually been sold?”
Another person commented on Wrohls’ Tiktok page: “I didn’t receive a notification from ESPN so I don’t believe it.”
Third he wrote“I wish it were true.”
After Irving’s excellent improvisation, Cenat gave him an ovation and praised his acting skills.
Irving reminded Cenat that he had some acting experience. In 2018, he was solid in the movie “Uncle Drew” as Uncle Drew himself.
“Wait, but you already know I used to be the lead in the movie. So I had to take acting classes,” Irving said.
He later revealed that he also took acting classes at Duke University, where he acted for a yr before being drafted.
Irving was traded twice during his profession. He was the first overall pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2011 and won a championship with them in 2016 with LeBron James before being traded to the Boston Celtics in 2017.
He was then traded from the Brooklyn Nets to his current home, the Dallas Mavericks, in 2023.
