LeBron James’ Wife Savannah Reveals Untold Secrets of Her ‘Raggedy and Janky’ Love Life
NBA star LeBron James, 39, married his highschool sweetheart, Savannah James, on September 14, 2013, on the Grand Del Mar Hotel in San Diego.
After 11 years of marriage, the partners of the Netflix docuseries “Starting 5” were still committed to one another.
The couple first met through mutual friends once they were teenagers. However, Savannah was involved with other boys before she began dating LeBron.
On the newest episode of her podcast “Everybody’s Crazy” with co-host April McDaniel, Savannah, 38, opened up about her dating life before LeBron.
A 14-year-old viewer called into the show to get advice from Savannah and April about “boy problems, really bad ones.” The caller asked if she was still interested in her ex-boyfriend, who began dating her friend after their relationship ended.
April really helpful that the 14-year-old girl “raise her standards.” She then suggested that the caller tell the boy that that they had to separate for a 12 months because they were each “stumbled.”
“I can’t understand it” – Savannah stated that she is a 14-year-old girl and is in love. “I had all my boyfriends when I was 14.”
She added: “I’ve had boyfriends and I’ve had boyfriends who were just friends, but I once dated one. It was uneven and tense. It’s okay. I used to be 14 years old. It didn’t matter. I used to be 14 years old. I taught myself.
YouTube commentators also reacted to the teenage interviewer’s relationship dilemma. One person simply asked, “Did that girl say 14?”
Another person wrote: “On and off at 14??? I didn’t date until I was a senior in high school. Oh God.”
A 3rd person commented: “(I) had absolutely no expectation that a girl who had been in an on-and-off relationship for five years would be 14 years old. Girl, where are your parents? LMFAO.”
According to reports, Savannah was 16 years old when she met LeBron. The 17-year-old basketball player was a nationally known phenomenon for the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.
“We haven’t been together since high school,” LeBron stated about his relationship with Savannah during a speech at Harlem’s Fashion Row Gala in 2018, in response to Hollywood reporter.
The four-time NBA champion added: “Savannah was with me, shooting in the gym when (I had) absolutely nothing.” LeBron’s comments referred to Drake’s words “Stay in the plans” lyrics.
Drake suggested that Vanessa, the then-estranged wife of fellow NBA legend Kobe Bryant, didn’t deserve a big sum of their divorce settlement because Kobe’s on-court skills made him a fortune.
During a recent sit-down on Tamron Hall, Savannah reflected on overcoming work challenges from a glass-half-empty perspective.
“I think it was an acknowledgment because I knew that at times I felt exhausted and wasn’t the best version of my mother, myself and my husband,” Savannah explained to Hall.
She continued, “It was just hard to be fully present. So I began disappearing. This took place through the (COVID-19 pandemic). My children were good. (LeBron) was good, he was doing something somewhere, and I disappeared into my bathroom.
Some social media users questioned whether Savannah’s comments about “Tamron Hall” were a subtle admission of unsubstantiated rumors that LeBron was unfaithful during their marriage.
Savannah and LeBron went on their first date to Outback Steakhouse in 2002. Apparently the long run Los Angeles Laker returned her leftovers after the trip.
“I completely forgot about them and he brought them to me. I believe he just wanted one other excuse to return and meet me,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2010.
On October 6, 2004, Savannah gave birth to LeBron “Bronny” James Jr. Three years later, on June 14, 2007, the couple’s second son, Bryce Maximus, was born.
After marrying in September 2013, LeBron and Savannah welcomed their first daughter, Zhuri Nova, on October 22, 2014.
