Elon Musk sparks outrage from ‘I, Robot’ director who calls CEO a thief over designs for Tesla’s controversial new cybertaxi

Elon Musk is summoned on charges of stealing another person’s work. The Tesla co-founder and CEO was recently challenged by “I, Robot” director Alex Proyas. Confronting Musk on the X app he purchased, Proyas wrote on Twitter: “Hey Elon, can I please have my designs back? #ElonMusk #Elon_Musk.”

Below the caption, Proyas added a collage originally created by Screen Thrill’s social media team. The collage showed side-by-side comparisons of three designs from “I, Robot” and three new concept models of Musk’s Tesla line to point out the striking resemblance.

In the front row, the “I, Robot” police robot is shown on the left, and Musk’s Optimus robots are shown on the best. The next row featured a futuristic truck next to a Tesla Robovan, and at last, the collage showed the futuristic vehicles utilized in “I, Robot” adjoining to Musk’s Cybercab.

Information in regards to the similarities comes just a few days after Musk presented prototypes to fans. Musk reportedly arrived on the party in a Cybercab taxi, while the robot Optimus served drinks, chatted with guests and performed dance moves.

On stage, Musk proudly talked about his inventions and the long run that awaits them. He said: “We will go from completely self-driving with supervision to full self-driving without supervision, where you can fall asleep and wake up at your destination. It will be a great future.”

Cybercabs may have no steering wheel or pedals.

Musk has yet to reply, but it surely could also be hard for him to disclaim the similarities, especially when he has a tab on Tesla website titled “We, Robot”, which permits you to see Robotaxi, Robovan and the Tesla bot.

Fans reacted to the comparisons on the Screen Thrill website. One person he said“A guy watched iRobot once and said, ‘Let me copy this real quick,’ and another said, ‘Didn’t Elon finish the movie? This ends badly.”

In I, Robot, the 12 months is 2035 and Will Smith’s character is investigating a murder that’s believed to have been committed by one in all the very smart robots. Then he involves the conclusion that robots may pose a threat to humanity.

Other fans also commented who believed that Proyas was reaching along with his accusations against Musk.

“The six-year-old who drew them is asking you the same question,” said one fan and one other he wrote“Haha, you should be honored. He made them real life.”

Production of Cybercabs will begin in 2026, and Musk claims that the unattended “fully autonomous” vehicles shall be safer than those currently driven by humans.

“It will save lives,” he said. “I enjoy life a lot and stop injuries. “I think autonomous cars will become ten times safer than humans.”
