“The obnoxious Trump supporter got what he deserved,” the former “The Gary Owen Show” reality star wrote in her Instagram caption. Both comment sections were flooded with reactions to the heated discussions in San Francisco.
“I like Gary’s ability to manage with his quick wit. Catch him, Gary! – wrote a YouTube user. Another user asked: “Why on earth would a Trumper go to a Gary Owen show!?!?”
On Instagram, someone commented: “Trump supporters went to a comedy club in SF simply to be offended (p—) up. He will post on any app saying that “the media is silencing him.”

Owen’s stock began to rise in the comedy world in the Nineteen Nineties when he attracted a majority black audience on local shows in California. In 1998–1999, he went from appearing on BET’s “Comic View” to being the show’s only Caucasian host.
Despite connecting with many viewers of the dark comedy, the “Ride Along” actor faced backlash for his approach to talking about racial issues. For example, in June 2024, a Cincinnati man discussed using the N-word during a performance in Oklahoma City.
“I never said it with malicious intent. “I never said it as a put-down,” Owen said. “Mother—I listen to rap. Don’t you think when I’m alone in the car… I’m singing F-k from this song. “They don’t like us!”
Owen was referring to Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping record “Not Like Us” — a song accusing biracial Canadian rapper Drake of stealing from Black American culture. Some found Gary’s explanation funny, but others slammed him for even joking about rapping racial slurs.
Like Drake’s parents, Gary Owen has biracial adult children. He is the father of son Austin and daughter Kennedy with his black ex-wife, Kenya Duke. Owen can also be stepfather to Duke’s adult son Emilio from a previous relationship.
Gary and Kenia were married from 2003 to 2021. Their divorce led to a heated public argument over spousal support. She allegedly demanded monthly child support of $44,000. Owen complained that it was “a lot” and insisted he would not have asked for that quantity if the roles were reversed.
Additionally, Duke accused her ex-husband of being an unyielding father who financially abandoned his children in April 2021. Owen also admitted that he was caught cheating several times during their marriage.
According to reports as of May 2024. Gary Owen is engaged to Brianna Johnson. She gave birth to “black and white” twins, Royal and Romein July 2023. Johnson also has an 11-year-old daughter named Control.
