Gary Owen’s estranged son finally reunites with his twin brothers after messy divorce from ex-wife Kenya Duke that resulted in four years of separation

Years after the world fell in love with comedian Gary Owen and his family due to BET’s reality series “The Gary Owen Show,” the Ohio native divorced his wife, Kenya Duke, in 2021. He later admitted that the tip of their marriage was on account of his infidelity.

As a result, his three children with Duke – Emilio Owen, 33 (Kenya’s son from a previous relationship, whom Gary adopted), Austin Owen (23) and Kennedy Owen (21) – stopped talking to him.

The “Think Like a Man” actor has spoken openly concerning the personal pain attributable to the separation, acknowledging his role in the explanation why his adult children selected to go to this point apart. He said he didn’t want his older children to first meet when the twins, Royal and Rome, were 4 or 5 years old.

Audiences became deeply invested in this drama, which was broadcast on social media for years to have fun this touching reunion between father and son after greater than three and a half years of silence.

Many people were particularly moved by Austin’s warm attitude towards his younger brothers.

Not all comments focused solely on the brothers’ meeting; many highlighted the healing of Gary and Austin’s bond.

“I’m glad the relationship is improving,” one person commented, before joking: “Damn bro, your genes are strong!!!”

In Owen’s “Club Shay Shay.” described the emotional toll of being away from older children and wanting to reconcile, saying, “It’s a nightmare. It’s as in the event that they were my best achievements and best failure at the identical time.

The “Ride Along” actor can indeed be proud of his children as they’ve thrived despite the family split and the trauma of divorce.

Kennedy graduated with honors and is currently preparing to pursue higher education. Gary attended her graduation last December but was told in a text message sent before the ceremony to “not approach her”.

On his show “Get Someone with Gary Owen” he explained that he texted her to congratulate her from afar after hiring a photographer to take photos of her on her big day.

“I sent her a few shots and just said, ‘I’m so proud of you,’ and her response was, ‘I’m blocking you,'” he stated, adding that his daughter scolded him for “not respecting his boundaries.”

He also said that Austin works with children who “love him”, while Emilio lives with his girlfriend in Ohio and in addition works.

Although Gary and Austin have begun to rebuild their relationship, the small print of how they got up to now remain unclear. It’s also unclear what it would take for Kennedy and Emilio to reconnect with their younger siblings or allow their father back into their lives.
