Keke Palmer appointed brand director of Revlon’s Creme of Nature

“Big Boss” Keke Palmer can now add “senior executive” to his already lengthy CV. As reported Women’s on a regular basis clothing (WWD), multihyphenate is joining forces with legacy hair care brand Creme of Nature as its first-ever chief brand officer.

“Keke will play a key role in shaping how we communicate our brand to the end consumer,” said Chandra Coleman, head of hair care and private care brand marketing at Revlon. “(H)er’s creative input will be invaluable as we strive to innovate and stay at the forefront of the marketplace.”

The full scope of Palmer’s recent gig stays unknown, but each the artist and the 48-year-old hair care brand, now owned by Revlon, were born in Chicago. Palmer, who has debuted a number of unforgettable hair transformations in recent times, recalls that she grew up with a passion for the brand’s products.

“I grew up with Creme of Nature – it’s one of those brands that has always been present not only in my family, but also in my community,” Palmer said in a press release. Now the brand hopes that the star will increase its attractiveness within the eyes of a brand new generation of consumers.

“We wanted to work with someone who really understands hair and is more than just the face of our campaigns,” Coleman explained. “(Palmer’s) authentic voice and deep understanding of our audiences will help us create messages that truly connect with our consumers.”

These messages will reportedly draw on Palmer’s natural talents as a storyteller; skills he wants to make use of in his recent role.

“I have been in the entertainment industry for 20 years and I love telling stories this way,” Palmer said in a press release. “To have the chance to do it on this scale with Creme of Nature – it speaks to what the brand does in a way that not many others can say, and I’m excited in regards to the opportunity to bridge the gap between the old brand and what it’s wish to be back on the forefront of a brand new generation “

As noted by WWD, Palmer’s recent role comes after her successful brand ambassador stints with Olay, complement brand Olly and more. It also comes lower than two years after parent company Revlon emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy and has several rebranding efforts currently underway. In his first role as CEO, Palmer hopes to bring not only a brand new face, but additionally recent energy to the long-standing brand within the textured hair care industry, while continuing to advance his profession.

“I’ve been working on being able to continue to grow, going from being the talent and the person who asks for opportunities to being the person who gives them, that’s something I’ve been working on,” she said.
