Noah Lyles announces his engagement to fellow Olympian Junelle Bromfield

Noah Lyles is getting married!

This weekend, the Team USA athlete proposed to his Olympia teammate and now fiancée, Junelle Bromfield. In a series of Instagram posts, the couple announced the news by sharing a video recap of the proposal.

“To my future wife, I will love you forever” – Lyles he captioned the video.

In a sparkling silver dress, Bromfield walked down a path of pink flowers to a heart-shaped flower arrangement and an illuminated sign that read, “Will you marry me?” In a separate one video published on XLyles shared the speech he gave before getting down on one knee.

“I have practiced many different things, but I think I will start with this… Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy. Love is not boastful. Love is not proud. This is not searching for yourself. “He doesn’t get angry easily and doesn’t keep records of wrongs,” he said. “I think about us being together. I think that we will be able to realize these (values) as we go through life.”

“I’ve had other times when I thought I needed money. I thought I needed someone to join me and… just boost my ego,” he continued. “But after we met, I feel like I finally understood what peace is… and the power to be vulnerable. (…) I feel much happier knowing that I can do it. (So) we will live together and rejoice doing it.

The couple, who first met on social media in 2017 and began dating in 2022, recently competed against one another on the 2024 Paris Olympics, supporting one another on and off the track, in addition to occasionally facing public criticism, Lyles and Bromfield open up about their love for one another.

“…I know that if I ever doubt myself, he will remind me how amazing I am” – Bromfield he captioned the video about how her boyfriend complimented her in a news interview.

“We are both Olympic medalists, we are both two-time Olympians, we have played in many world championships together. And although our journeys are different, we are still warriors and we share many of the same qualities,” he said People Magazine. “I believe that is what draws us together. “I don’t think we can let our accolades really change the way we see ourselves.”

Bromfield’s acceptance and attraction to Lyles’ unwavering honesty and large personality reportedly strengthened his hopes of marrying her.

“When I hear things like this, I have the impression: yes, I would like such a woman to raise my children,” he said in this system “Inside the Track” podcast. “We’re going to grow old together and it’s going to last forever, and it’s going to be continuous.”
