There is discord among white Republicans
Georgia Republican Party Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene allegedly turning away from Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vancecalling it “completely unbalanced”,
In the interview, Taylor Greene allegedly said she had listened to a few of the things Vance had said on the campaign trail and was not impressed, calling the Republican lawmaker a “lunatic.” “I’ve been silent on this, but I can’t anymore,” Taylor Greene said. “I’ve listened to some of the things Senator Vance has said on the campaign trail, and it’s the drivel of a lunatic.”
Controversial congresswoman Withr told her fellow Republicans, saying Vance’s candidacy was on the point of the party’s collapse and “will suffer certain defeat.” In the meantime, she offered herself as a substitute: “If I’m asked to serve, I will.” Taylor Greene said she would restore “much-needed seriousness to the Republican ticket.”
In January 2024, Taylor Greene, one in every of Trump’s most outspoken allies, was considering becoming one in every of President Donald Trump’s Republican Party running mates for vp. candidates. Steve Bannon, Trump’s former top adviser and host of the podcast “Bannon’s War Room,” called her ambitious. “She’s not some cheapskate. She’s ambitious — she’s not ashamed of it, and she shouldn’t be,” Bannon said.
“He sees himself on Trump’s shortlist to be his running mate. To paraphrase Cokie Roberts, when MTG looks in the mirror, he sees a potential president smiling.”
Taylor Greene is singing a very different song than when Vance was first elected by Trump. , she said he was “proud” of him and “completely agreed with him” together with her “ideologically.” “I love it when people change their minds about President Trump,” she said. “We are Americans; we have the right to change our minds, and he changed his mind about President Trump after the first four years of his presidency, and that is a great thing.”
In a video posted to X, she echoed those self same sentiments, noting that she was among the primary lawmakers to endorse him when he ran for the Ohio Senate. “I’m very excited. I was the first member of Congress to endorse JD Vance when he ran for the Senate,” she said in an interview. “And I vetted him, obviously pretty thoroughly, because I’m one of those strong supporters of President Trump.”
After other GOP leaders expressed their impression that Vance is very smart and educated, Taylor Greene said she doesn’t know what causes Vance to go on “bizarre” tirades. Several clips from past and present interviews with Vance have sparked some response, including one through which he said the goal of a pre-menopausal woman is to lift grandchildren.
He also tried to stop Vice President Kamala Harris on the tarmac in Wisconsin and falsely criticized her past, saying she was “pretending to be a tough prosecutor.”
