SEE: Prime Video Explores Black NFL Quarterbacks in New Documentary Series – Essence

Today, Prime Video announced the highly anticipated premiere of a 3-part docuseries debuting September 24. The series, which can be available in greater than 240 countries and territories, offers an enchanting exploration of the history and influence of black quarterbacks in the NFL.

Hosted by former NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Michael Vick, the series takes viewers on a journey across America, exploring the challenges and triumphs of black quarterbacks on and off the sphere. It pays tribute to the wealthy legacy of those pioneering athletes, showcasing their resilience, talent and lasting impact on the game.

The documentary features interviews with a number of the most notable black quarterbacks in NFL history, including Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Cam Newton, Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, Donovan McNabb, James “Shack” Harris, Warren Moon and Doug Williams. The series also features commentary from celebrities and football legends like Common, Deion Sanders, Larry Wilmore, Steve Young, Josh Allen and Jamie Foxx.

Directed by Fred Anthony Smith and produced by SMAC Productions in association with NFL Films. Executive produced by Michael Strahan, Constance Schwartz-Morini and FredAnthony Smith, it is a must-see for football fans and anyone interested in moving stories of perseverance and progress in the game.
