Kobe Bryant’s daughter Bianka, 7, throws out the first pitch at a Dodgers game to honor her father

During the ceremony in honor of the late Kobe Bryant in Los Angeles lasts all weekendhis daughter Bianka paid a sentimental tribute to the basketball legend.

Seven-year-old Bianca threw out the first ball at Dodger Stadium to start the MLB team’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

She was joined for the special moment by her mother, Vanessa Bryant, 42, and her sisters, Natalia, 21, and Capri, 5. The quartet wore matching Dodgers jerseys with the number 24 on the back, in honor of Kobe, who died in a helicopter crash in 2020 at the age of 41, along along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna.

Bianca is now the third member of the Bryant family to have the honor of throwing out the first pitch at a Dodgers game. In September 2023, Natalia had the same honor, nearly 25 years after their father began the tradition in the family.

In the post to Instagram which included photos and game highlights, Vanessa wrote in the caption, “Thank you @dodgers for supporting our @mambamambacitasports foundation. LA Love 🙏🏽💜💛 💙🤍.”

She also shared photo Bianca with Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts, 31, with a big smile on her face.

Bianca’s big day at the Dodgers game got here the day after Kobe’s official Los Angeles Day on Aug. 24. The game was a part of a major event in Los Angeles honoring the basketball icon, who would have turned 46 on Aug. 23. At the game, attendees got special Kobe T-shirts honoring the Los Angeles sports icon, according to People Magazine.

The jersey design pays homage to the “Black Mamba” with a snake print and gold and black color scheme. His iconic numbers — 8 and 24 — are displayed on either side of the game animal.

On Saturday, the Dodgers gave fans who attended the game Showtime Lakers jerseys and a free drawing of the basketball team in Dodgers uniforms.

Lakers legends Michael Cooper, AC Green, Kurt Rambis, Byron Scott, Mychal Thompson and James Worthy also participated in the pregame ceremony and threw the first shot. After the game, a Lakers-themed drone show lit up the sky.
