Google is working on artificial intelligence that will be able to hear signs of illness.

Given every part you’ve got heard about artificial intelligence, you most likely won’t be surprised to learn that Google is amongst the businesses that are starting to use audio signals to predict early signs of disease.

How? According to Bloomberg, Google trained its AI model on 300 million sounds that included coughs, sneezes and heavy respiration to discover someone battling tuberculosis, for instance.

Now he has They joined forces with an Indian company – Salcit Technologiesa respiratory healthcare AI startup — to put the technology into smartphones, where it could potentially help high-risk populations in underserved regions.

This isn’t Google’s first attempt to digitize human senses. Its enterprise arm has also backed at the very least one startup that uses AI to literally sniff out disease.
