Renewed Report Claims Jennifer Lopez Accuses Husband Ben Affleck of ‘Parasitizing’ Her Wealth
Jennifer Lopez reportedly filed for divorce from her estranged husband Ben Affleck on August 20 without the involvement of a lawyer. MirrorAs part of the court documents, Lopez wants a judge to disclaim Affleck any separation support.
According to a July 9 article on RadarOnlineLopez believes Affleck “fed off” her success throughout their two-year marriage. A source told the web site that JLo is “willing to play hardball” to secure compensation from the Oscar-winning filmmaker.
“One of the little-known secrets is that Jennifer paid for most of their marital expenses, and now she feels like he owes it to her,” an alleged insider told RadarOnline.
The unnamed person also revealed, “She adds up all the private jet bills that she puts down on her plastic, hotels, meals, clothes, coffee, gas. The high cost of living was her expense. She paid the lion’s share for that $60 million mansion they bought.”
Other media outlets picked up RadarOnline’s story. For example, Peasant reported on Jennifer Lopez’s alleged financial battle with Ben Affleck, while rumors of their tumultuous breakup circulated online.
“This is fucked up if she can get away with it. If my wife wants to live lavishly and spend money on something, then I’m all for her spending it, even if I don’t want to spend my own money. But coming back later and making me pay for half when I didn’t agree to spend the money in the first place is crazy,” reads the comment on Yahoo.
Instagram user commented on RadarOnline: “These two will never find true happiness. Ben can’t get his s–t together. Being (a drug addict) is a lifelong struggle… Who can keep up with her high standards, controlling ways, and search for the perfect love?”
Affleck opened up about his substance abuse struggles in a 2020 interview with ABC News reporter Diane Sawyer. The “Gone Baby Gone” director said, “I started drinking more and more, and I had a really hard time accepting that that meant I was an alcoholic.”
TMZ It has been reported that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck haven’t signed a prenuptial agreement. The lack of one could lead on to a protracted battle over the marital assets collected during their marriage.
“$640 million and no prenuptial agreement? Make that make sense!!” an Instagram commentator wrote. Another person took aim specifically at JLo, writing, “This just shows how impulsive and immature she is.”
