Kamal Harris Gets Endorsement From Stephen Curry
Although many on the Democratic National Convention were expecting a “surprise” performance from Beyoncé, the gang got a surprise in the shape of an Olympic gold medalist.
According to Golden State Warriors star and leading scorer Stephen Curry he appeared via video to publicly endorse Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris. On the ultimate night of the DNC, held this 12 months in Chicago, the gold medal-winning Team USA endorsed Harris.
Wearing his recently won medal, Curry told the gang via video: “It was an honor to represent our country. It was an honor to support Kamala (Harris). So let’s all do our part.”
Referring to the Paris Olympics, “This unity on and off the field reminded us that together we can do anything and continue to inspire the world. That’s why I believe Kamala, as president, can restore that unity and continue to lead our country forward. It’s about keeping hope and faith in our country, making sure families can be taken care of in their most precious moments.”
Curry is the second member of the U.S. basketball team to talk out in support of Harris. Warriors head coach and U.S. coach Steve Kerr spoke on the United Center on Aug. 19 to endorse Harris. Kerr won three NBA championships alongside one in all Chicago’s biggest athletes, Michael Jordan, and played at the sector where the DNC was held.
After encouraging voters to exit and vote for Harris, he ended his speech with the signature “Night, night” move that his star player, Curry, does when he’s having an excellent time on the basketball court.
“When the scores are tallied, we’ll be able to, as the great Steph Curry used to say, ‘Night, night,'” Kerr told the gang.
