Angel Reese wants current Team USA back in the spotlight as media turns its attention to 2028 roster
Angel Reese slammed the media for specializing in the next Olympic squad right after the U.S. women’s basketball team won the gold medal in Paris.
The criticism got here after the WNBA rookie spotted an ESPN article about the prospects for Los Angeles’ 2028 summer games. Considering the article got here out the same day as Team USA’s historic win, Reese quickly shut down any talk of X.
Let’s congratulate these women and allow them to enjoy this moment! Leave me out of this until it’s my time! 😇 https://t.co/tMK1jr9tdZ

“Let’s just congratulate these women and let them enjoy their moment,” the Chicago Sky star said. “Leave me out of this until it’s my time!”
While Reese would reasonably not have her name in the news until she steps onto the international court, she does want to sooner or later win her own Olympic gold medal. She recently shared her ambitions with reporters before a match.
“I want to be an Olympian by 2028” revealed Reese in July, as reported by . “I think I have time to continue to develop.”
She added: “I’m proud of everything – that I’m from the United States and that I can wear those three letters on my chest. So that’s something that I have as one of my goals, to be an Olympian and to be able to play with special class and great players like the women who are playing now.”
Reese’s dream could definitely come true, given her impressive rookie season in the WNBA. She earned a spot on the league’s All-Star roster in her first yr. She helped secure Team WNBA’s victory over USA Basketball during All-Star Weekend in July.
