Nate Holden and Willie Brown deny Trump’s helicopter crash story
Nate Holden, a former Los Angeles City Council member and California state senator representing Los Angeles, gave an exclusive interview on August 9 by which he recounted his memories of a helicopter ride with former President Donald Trump that just about resulted in tragedy.
According to Holden, Trump indicated that it confused him with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, though Holden has repeatedly claimed he isn’t Brown.
According to Holden, he told Trump, “Willie is a short black guy living in San Francisco. I’m a tall black guy living in Los Angeles.”
“I think we all look the same,” 95-year-old Holden wittily remarked to the nest.
Holden said he watched Trump’s Aug. 8 news conference, where he reiterated that it was Brown who was within the helicopter. But it was clearly Holden, not Brown, in keeping with Barbara Res, former executive vp of construction and development at Trump Casinos, who was also within the helicopter.
According to Trump he said during a press conference that he had been on a helicopter ride with Brown, exaggerating their relationship. They also said the news conference was stuffed with misleading statements and lies and the newest evidence of Trump’s desire to discredit Vice President Harris, no matter whether his claims delay under scrutiny.
“I know Willie Brown very well,” Trump said. “Actually, I went down in a helicopter with him. We thought maybe that was the end. We were flying together in a helicopter to a certain place and we made an emergency landing.”
Trump also repeated his claims that Brown had repeatedly spoken badly about Harris, which Brown also denied. Brown said he “cannot imagine thinking of Kamala Harris in any negative way.”
According to , Brown vehemently denied Trump’s claims.
“You would know if I crashed in a helicopter with Trump.”
Brown continued by saying he would never speak badly about any woman in Trump’s circle.
“Hell, no,” Brown said. “I wouldn’t say anything bad to him about any woman.”
Res agreed with Brown’s version of events, she said. “This is history, OK, there is no Willie Brown.”
According to Politico, Holden also spoke to Brown: “I said, ‘Willie, did you almost crash a helicopter with Trump, too?’ He said, ‘No.’ I said, ‘I was the one, Willie,’” Holden said.
Holden continued, saying, “Either he got it wrong or he made it up. It was too big to ignore. This is big. Connecting Willie Brown with me? The press is looking for the real story and they didn’t get it. You did.”
According to , Brown also rejected Trump’s proposal to incorporate him in his account, stating that Trump’s recollections were “obviously wrong,” and said in a phone conversation, “I’ve never been in a helicopter with him in my life.”
