SWV and Xscape are tearing up stages on their “The Queens of R&B” tour, reminding people why these two groups were at the highest within the ’90s.

Throughout the summer, each groups made headlines as their lead vocalists touched fans’ hearts with their beloved songs.

SWV’s Coko Clemons wowed the audience, going viral when she hit the high note on her Grammy-nominated cover of Patti LaBelle’s “If Only You Knew.”

Xscape singer Tameka “Tiny” Harris and her daughter Heiress also got the group going with their 1993 hit “Understanding.” The mother and daughter opened the song, with the little singer singing former band member LaTocha Scott’s part.

Now, Kandi Burruss is making headlines. But not for a similar reasons as the opposite ladies on tour. During one stop on the tour, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star attempted to hit a high note on Xscape’s 1998 hit “My Little Secret.”

After singing the improper key or note, fans took to social media to mock the songwriter for not quite getting it right.

“The notes don’t hit the same as you get older, you haters,” one person wrote. “Well guess what she doesn’t sing, she sucks STILL DOING THOSE HIPPERS BABY! Damn Mariah can’t sing as well as she used to, but I still listen to Boffum.”

Another person added: “Kandi was never a great singer but I think she’s at an age where she can just pretend to sing.”

A 3rd comment read: “Yeah, they make us dislike this song, nomo.”

A fourth person commented: “Kandi sounds like a hot mess! Sometimes you have to say goodbye! Honey it’s over, let it go!”

User X published“Kandi Burruss can’t sing to me, sorry. At least she’s not leading the song. Please leave her in the background.” Another said: “Please retire immediately.”

Some were upset that a member of the audience was yelling and inspiring her. But die-hard fans put it all the way down to her having a bad day.

“She still sounds better than me, so,” someone wrote, while one other commented: “Maybe she had a bad day. I need to give my vocal cords a rest.”

One fan didn’t listen to the video that went viral and was excited to see the owner of the Old Lady Gang restaurant performing hits that folks said she could not perform.

“On my way to a concert by one of the best whistle playing housewives/songwriters of all time… kandi burruss I love you,” the person wrote.

The viral clip, which got here with a negative note, doesn’t forged a shadow over her established profession or the summer series that was born out of the group’s 2021 appearance on “Verzuz” and the Bravo reality show.

The reviews of the tour are great, Syracuse.com saying was “full of nostalgia” and called each of the ladies, including Burruss, “powerhouses” who showed off “their vocal abilities.”

The Mercury News also paid special attention to the ladies of Xscape, stating“They sounded great in their own individual spotlights,” which included Burruss’ moment on “Secret.”

The tour, which also featured artists like 702, OMG Girlz, Total and Mya, kicked off on June 27 and crisscrossed the country, transporting people back to a time when girls used hairspray, loved Timberland boots and wore baggy pants.

The final date of the tour will happen on August 18, 2024 in Inglewood, California, and reports claim there will probably be a second season of the truth show — although SWV’s Lelee Lyons has denied the reports.
