Rev. Jesse Jackson’s Alarming Appearance in New Video Raises Concerns About His Deteriorating Health

Pastor Jesse Jackson has some longtime followers concerned after recent photos of the 82-year-old Baptist pastor sparked concerns online.

His protégé, Al Sharpton, posted photos and videos of the Rainbow/PUSH founder on social media, showing Jackson in frail condition and sitting in a wheelchair.

“My heart breaks for Jesse. My aunt is similar. So sad,” one person wrote on X, under Sharpton’s post. Another person said, “Brother Jesse is falling so fast, wow. Bless him.”

A 3rd said, “Pastor Jesse Jackson grew up and fought a long and hard battle, life.”

Others have raised troubling questions in response to Al Sharpton’s video of Jackson posted on X, one person on the app asked“What is wrong with Jesse Jackson?”

Someone replied that the civil rights activist suffered from Parkinson’s disease. Another user X tweeted:“Oh my God! What’s wrong with Parkinson’s, smh!”

Some people left harsh comments about Jackson under Sharpton’s posts. For example, troll wrote“Jesse looks like a wax figure.”

According to ABC7Jackson was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2017. In 2022, he spent several weeks on the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab to receive treatment for his symptoms.

“I came here in a wheelchair, and I leave here walking on my own,” Jackson said during physical, occupational and speech therapy.

While the clip of Jackson stays on Sharpton’s Twitter profile, negative reactions to Jackson’s appearance can have prompted Sharpton to remove the video from the opposite social media platform.

Apparently, the National Action Network founder also posted a video of Sheila Jackson Lee’s memorial service on his Instagram profile after which deleted it.

While some social media users focused on Jackson’s appearance, his fans took to Instagram to praise the close associate of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Man, it’s crazy to see them all at that age, but it’s really amazing to see what they’ve contributed to our culture and how they’re still going strong. They’re true icons!” a supporter announced.

“God bless Jessie! He would have been a great president. Unfortunately the world wasn’t ready for him,” wrote an Instagram user, reflecting on Jackson’s two presidential runs.

Jackson first ran for president of the United States in 1984 as a Democrat. In 1988, he launched a second unsuccessful presidential campaign.

Sharpton has run for elected office multiple times on the local and federal levels. The MSNBC political analyst was unsuccessful in the 2004 Democratic presidential primaries.
