‘I love my job’: Simone Biles lashes out at Trump on Twitter after winning Olympic gold

The recent phrase entered the black lexicon following former President Donald Trump’s baseless claim that migrants were “taking black jobs” within the U.S. The phrase has also gained popularity on the planet of sports, with Olympian Simone Biles expressing her pride on social media, saying, “I love my black job.”

Undoubtedly the NBA’s GOAT, LeBron “King” James also took the term in stride, responding to Biles’ tweet by calling her Black GOAT, but using a goat icon in his tweet, apparently convinced everyone would know what he was talking about.

During the primary presidential debate of 2024, held in Atlanta on June 27, former President Donald Trump addressed the continuing immigration crisis, spreading misinformation about violent migrants coming to the country and falsely claiming they were “taking away black jobs.”

“They’re taking jobs away from black people and Latinos. You haven’t seen it yet, but you’re going to see something that’s going to be the worst in our history,” Trump exclaimed during a televised debate with President Joe Biden.

The Republican presidential candidate repeated that narrative July 30 in Chicago at this 12 months’s National Association of Black Journalists convention. Speaking to a room stuffed with black journalists, writers and reporters, Trump once more used the phrase “black jobs.”

“I’ll let you know that tens of millions and tens of millions of individuals come from abroad to work for black people.

When asked what he meant by “black jobs,” he replied, “A black job is anyone who has a job. That’s what it is,” prompting cheers and astonishment from the NABJ audience.
