Anthony Mackie Stars Alongside Harrison Ford in New ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Trailer
Anthony Mackie is prepared to save lots of the day once more in the brand new trailer for Captain America: Brave New World.
The 45-year-old actor plays Sam Wilson, the brand new Captain America following the departure of Chris Evans, in the trailer, which Marvel Studios released on Friday. Mackie appears alongside Harrison Ford, who takes over the role of U.S. President Thaddeus Ross from William Hurt after his death in 2022. “Captain America: Brave New World” is “the fourth installment in the Cap series” and the primary since Evans appeared as Steve Rogers in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” based on Deadline.
In the trailer, President Ross recruits Wilson Mackie to take over the role of Captain America and work as U.S. Agent. Wilson “must uncover the reason behind a nefarious global conspiracy before the real mastermind turns the entire world red,” based on the official synopsis Packaging.
Mackie and Ford are joined by an all-star forged in the upcoming film, including Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson, with Julius Onah directing and Kevin Feige and Nate Moore producing. Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth function executive producers, based on The Wrap.
Mackie spoke with Entertainment Weekly in regards to the film in April, saying that “it would make more sense to make an action espionage movie that was set in a real world, not with aliens and planes flying through portals and stuff.”

“Even though I’ve been in so many of them and I’ve seen everything, this is the movie that gives Sam the chance to really establish himself as a true action star and an Avengers character,” Mackie said on the time. “This movie is a clear reset. It really re-establishes the idea of what this universe is and what it’s going to be. I think in these movies you get a clear, new brand of where Marvel is going, just like they did with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
“Captain America: Brave New World” will hit theaters nationwide on February 14, 2025.
