Space Marine 2 devs cancel beta to focus on ‘best’ launch possible

Creators for 2 announced that the planned multiplayer beta has been canceled because the team wants to focus all their attention on the retail game and its launch. And after the previous couple of years where many big games have been released in poor form, this seems like a sensible move.

Announced in 2021after which delayed to 2023, looks pretty good. I can not wait to take a look at the third-person shooter when it releases later this 12 months. And I’m not even an enormous guy! I just loved it original which released on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 in 2011. And this latest entry looks to be even larger and higher. But if you happen to were excited to take a look at the upcoming game before its launch via beta, well, bad news: it isn’t happening anymore.

(*2*)On June 28, developers Saber Interactive confirmed that it is going to not conduct previously scheduled online multiplayer beta testing. The developers claim that the sport is “almost ready” and are focusing on optimizing, polishing and fixing remaining bugs. Due to this, the developers decided to cancel the beta, claiming that it will distract “development teams” from preparing for launch.

“We know this is disappointing news for some of you,” Saber Interactive said in a Steam post on Friday. “As a thank you to those interested in participating, players who registered via online registration before June 28, 2024, midnight Paris time, will receive a limited-edition Bolt Pistol skin.”

“We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to deliver the exceptional game you deserve,” Saber said.

The beta test that has been canceled now was first teaser in August 2023, and players can register for access on the sport’s official website. At the time, there was no known release date or beta window. However, after this initial tease, Saber Interactive muted the beta radio, leaving some fans frightened whether it will even occur. Now we all know.

On Steam, some fans expressed concerns that Saber Interactive was trying to hide the sport from players before its release. Others were confused as to why it took so long to announce the news. Personally, I hope that the team, allowed to focus on ending and polishing the principal game somewhat than running a beta, will give it the most effective probability at a solid launch.

We’ll have to wait and see if the test cancellation paid off. It’s finally coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 9.
