Latest OTA update for ‘Marvel Snap’ includes balance changes for Angela, Miles Morales, and more
They’ve got me! They did me good this time! Just a number of days ago (free) had a correct App Store update that did not include any card balance changes. I believed we were going to have a quiet week here after the last OTA update sent the tea table into orbit. But no, we have now a sneaky little OTA update here at the tip of the week that includes some changes which can be sure to hit the meta. Let’s distinguish them.
As usual, it’s a combination of nerfs and buffs, but the most important change is Angela. She’s been wreaking havoc on her buddies Kitty Pryde, Jeff, Nocturne, and Thena these days, and she’s clearly been doing somewhat too well, because today the bat got here for her. She’s going from a 2-cost 0-power to a 2-cost 3-power, and her ability will now only give her +1 power for each card played at her location as a substitute of +2. She’s still strong, but she’ll see much lower results than before.
The recent rule changes to how Moves are resolved don’t appear to have modified much, but a number of cards have experienced it a bit and some changes are being made to assist them get well. Hercules goes from 4-Cost 7-Power to 3-Cost 4-Power, without changing his ability. Gang of surfers? Gang of surfers. Kingpin joins the ranks of 1-Cost cards, going from 2-Cost 3-Power to 1-Cost 2-Power without changing his ability. Miles Morales also receives a small buff, gaining an influence point when he goes from 4-Cost 5-Power to 4-Cost 6-Power, and his ability stays intact.
Everything is rounded off with a number of other “minor” reinforcements. Second Dinner seems concerned about how much the importance of the High Evolutionary deck has declined, and while this is barely step one in attempting to help the kind, the buff from 4-Cost 4-Power to 4-Cost 6-Power for High Evolutionary itself is a great one starting. I do not think these decks are a priority for pure HE play, so this might keep him in play more often.
Nick Fury has a cool ability, but he’s one other character that does not get as much play as you’d expect given his large presence in Marvel media. He gains a bit more power, going from 4-cost 5-power to 4-cost 6-power. Hmm, that is three cards on this OTA that go to 6-power. Maybe something might be done with Cerebro here? Well, I’ll leave that for another person to take into consideration. Maybe Shaun next week when he’s doing his July deck guide.
Finally, poor old Alioth. He’s been tossed around rather a lot since his introduction, but this latest change is positive. He was 6-Cost 8-Power, and now he’s 6-Cost 10-Power. His ability is unchanged. You can see a possible flaw here, because it puts Alioth in Shang-Chi’s hit zone, but for those who take into consideration how Alioth’s ability works, you will see that that is all good for a giant dust cloud.
And that is it for this batch of balance changes to . What do you’re thinking that? Do any of those affect you? Are you trying to add any of the buffed cards to your rotation? Let us know within the comments below, and keep an eye fixed out for our latest deckbuilding guide coming next week!
