Katy Perry is planning a giant comeback to the music scene, but social media users are side-eyeing her over a questionable tweet that has resurfaced.

The “Firework” pop star had an interesting way of wishing Rihanna a joyful birthday over a decade ago, which just happened to be on the radar of lots of the Bajan singer’s fans.

Perry’s message to her peers on February 20, 2012 reads: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, rat, bear, crazy, sexy ass, weird whole joke. I (red heart emoji) love you very much. Be honest tonight because I know you will!”

Rihanna never responded, but the evaluation of the controversial wishes reached a breaking point on June 21 this yr. A Twitter user shared a screenshot claiming that the term “bearc-nt” was defined as “a synonym for n-ger.” The context of the correct use of this word is illustrated with an example. “You’re my favorite bear, you’re not like the rest!”

One response offensive word decisions included: “She called her n1gger and got away with it???” Rihanna’s second defender commented“She called it a rattle, nigger, son of a bitch.” A 3rd one that disagreed with Perry’s post wrote: “HOODRAT? RIRI, WON’T YOU ALLOW THIS?!”

Rihanna and Perry had a funny friendship between 2009 and 2013. The billionaire beauty mogul even hosted a bachelorette party for “American Idol” before she married Russell Brand in 2010. There were rumors that the Fenty founder was a bridesmaid, but that did not occur. Ultimately, she was unable to attend weddings because of work obligations.

The alleged decline in the women’s relationship got here after Rihanna rekindled her relationship with Chris Brown in 2012. Perry reportedly disapproved of the relationship, which got here three years after the two megastars’ lives were turned the other way up by a domestic violence incident.
