Cory Hardrict claims he struggled for a year and a half after his divorce from Tia Mowry

Actor Cory Hardrict is finally breaking his silence on his painful split from former child star and ex-wife Tia Mowry.

News of their impending divorce shocked the world when Mowry posted on social media in October 2022 that she had decided to separate from Hardrict. Their 14-year marriage officially ended when their divorce was finalized in April 2023. Now fans can get a glimpse into the ordeal the ‘The Chi’ actor has been going through over the previous few years.

In an interview on the American Black Film Festival, Hardrict completely let his guard down and shared a number of the challenges that include being a private man and working through pain.

While sitting on the panel, he said: “It’s hard when you feel like you’re going through something alone and no one understands you or is there for you,” in a recording of the net discussion.

“It’s like, you know, being a man. Especially as a black man, you know, he’s tough… he’s strong, but you know, for a year and a half, I cried myself to sleep every night,” he continued. “Nobody sees it. You know I say you reside 5 minutes away from your kids.

“Because people knew that Cory Hardrict knew that his children and his family were everything to him,” he stated, before sharing, “I’m stronger than I believed. I’m really stronger and it’s by Grace or God, this guy… I’m here and I’m still going.

Flossyinformant sent a short clip on Instagram, where lots of the 114,000 followers gave many various answers.

One person asked, “Well if that’s the case, why didn’t you stay and fight,” and then someone quickly responded with a challenge: “You do not know if he stayed and fought and begged and begged, then the wife said no and wondered her, what’s going to this man do, beg me, please don’t leave, you’ll be able to’t force people to be with you, and people argue, but the opposite person just doesn’t care. What’s next, move on!”

The third person he said, “Tell us what caused the divorce and then I will decide whether you deserve my sympathy!!” in a comment on the unique post written by the Sipping the Tea Sisters. Another chimed in, adding: “Oh y’all can find your way back to each other.”

She is currently starring in Tyler Perry’s recent film “Black Divorce” alongside her Meagan Good, who was also recently divorced.

During an earlier, more private interview on the ABFF Film Festival, the “All American: Homecoming” star spoke with Baller Alert’s Angie B and his colleague concerning the upcoming thriller.

Although the film centers across the couple’s divorce, he explained that he is nothing like his character, Dallas.

Hardrict was then asked if his own divorce played a role in his access to the role or if the role had helped him in his life in any way, he replied, “I felt prefer it was all there, so like I said, without moving into my personal life, after I just feel like all of us undergo various things in life and sometimes we’d like an outlet. This movie was a great opportunity for me to bring out my best and put all of it on camera.”

“So every emotion that I conveyed back then, you know, that I was able to express, was real and honest,” he confessed. “We all felt it on set. All of our performances were sincere because you know they made us feel and that’s what was great about making this movie.”

Then he burst out and said, “So yes, it helped me. I’m blessed and very privileged. I’m outside. Listen, I’m excited. I have never gone outside in ten years.

He later clarified by saying that he wasn’t actually “out” but “working.”

Fans were initially not blissful that Hardrict or Good made the film, claiming that Perry was profiting from them because of their high-profile divorces.

However, each actors imagine that the project is solid and encourage people to offer the film a likelihood.

“Black Divorce” will premiere on July 11 on the Amazon Prime streaming service.
