It wouldn’t be Summer Game Fest and the spirit of the E3 season without the big Nintendo Direct. Previously announced for June, it now looks just like the Switch’s big reveal could come as soon as next week because of a suspicious early announcement from developer Innersloth.

Back in MayNintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa announced that the corporate will hold a June Direct event, because it does yearly, to showcase games coming to Switch within the second half of 2024. He stressed that while Nintendo will begin sharing details in regards to the console’s successor within the next nine months, nothing about rumors about Switch 2 will be revealed during an upcoming live broadcast.

It looks just like the Nintendo Direct is probably going targeting a June 18 stream. This is in response to A YouTube video showing the upcoming update to a multiplayer murder simulation that was apparently by accident uploaded and posted ahead of schedule before being taken down again. Copies of the filmwhich debuts latest roles in the favored pandemic-era party game, remains to be available and its content were reported by GoNintendo.

While it is usually possible that the video will stand alone as a teaser, Innersloth has already revealed the updates in Nintendo Directs, and the words “available now” make it sound like a shadow drop that will appear live after the presentation airs. While corporations’ plans can all the time change, the proven fact that we’re still waiting for Direct and the month is nearly over makes June 18 or later that week seem the closest walk in the park.

Nintendo’s 2024 schedule for the Switch is wide open after its June 27 launch. With the console more likely to expire next 12 months, this will (hopefully) be its last victory lap before the Switch 2 is revealed following reported delays. We still have not received the update announced early within the Switch’s lifecycle, and with Microsoft becoming an increasing number of cross-platform, Square Enix trying to port over its previous exclusives, and Sony launching into a transportable hybrid, there’s loads of stuff that might be announced .

Maybe we’ll get a brand new game in the autumn. While a 2025 release date has already been announced, it might be great to receive rumors of a remake within the meantime. Who knows, possibly we’ll even see an extension for . I’ve already collected Wonder seeds in the sport and I’m desperate for more levels.
