DoorDash driver fired after doorbell camera video shows him spewing racial slur while delivering Black woman’s order

Surveillance footage from a Nashville home’s doorbell camera has gone viral showing a white DoorDash delivery driver openly using the N-word, but he was out of earshot of the shopper while placing an order on the front porch.

“Here’s your food, n—er!” says the unidentified man loudly, after setting down the food just outside the front door and looking through the contents of the bag, before stepping back and taking a photograph together with his cellphone to verify the delivery.

As the person walks away, he will be heard saying, “Chew, ni-er!”

The breathtaking video clip was shared on TikTok late last week by a user who goes by the account @ChristinaTheeDemo on the platform.

“Hasn’t he seen my Ring camera?” – the lady shouts caption at 15 seconds video, which also called out the web delivery giant for saying: “WHY the hell is that this man employed by you? Fire him IMMEDIATELY. HELLO.”

The company responded to the shopper and in a press release to Atlanta Black Star confirmed that the driver not works for the delivery company, adding: “Hate has no place on the platform.”

“We are horrified and horrified by this event. Make no mistake – we have zero tolerance for racism. This incident violates both our principles and what we believe in. We have deactivated this Dasher account and contacted the customer,” a DoorDash spokesperson said in an email statement.

The footage shows a white delivery man with a spiky hairstyle and sunglasses placing food on the front door without knocking because his only requirement is to take a photograph to verify the delivery.

As the bearded man sets down the luggage, the video shows him bending down for a moment and the sound of crumpling plastic bags will be heard as he grabs the food containers together with his bare hands.

There was no indication within the video that the person was provoked or confronted by the resident.

After the incident, the lady who lived there filed a grievance with DoorDash, and a customer support representative responded the following day thanking her for “bringing this issue to our attention.”

The letter, which the lady also sent to TikTok, said the driver had been faraway from the platform and was not making deliveries for DoorDash, which had promised to assist law enforcement if it decided to call the police.

The company ended the letter by giving her a case reference number, but never offered a refund.

“Please be aware that the type of behavior you described has no place on the DoorDash platform or anywhere else and is a violation of our security policies,” the corporate wrote.

It is unclear whether the corporate monitors the frequency of racist incidents involving its drivers or reports them in any respect.

A fast Google seek for “racist doorway incidents” brings up several which have occurred lately.

The now former delivery driver has not been situated or interviewed, so it’s unclear what sparked his anger, whether he simply harbored racist feelings or didn’t like his job.

After watching the clip, social media users expressed a combination of shock and disgust.

One verified user on X deliberate“It’s better to throw this food away.”

Similarly, one other person commented: “He also looks like he would spit in someone’s food.”

Another user said he would go outside to confront the person.

Some voices indicated that the person used racial slurs behind doors when nobody was around, which meant he would not have had the courage to say it to the woman’s face.

Some speculated whether the person was even indignant because he struggled to make a living as a delivery driver.

Many X users tagged @DoorDash to precise their criticism of the corporate.

“I hope they threw that food away. An inhuman Neanderthal cave beast mustn’t work in any public sector. Hope Door Dash fired him, popular online podcaster Nicole’s View said.
