A promotional interview for “Ride or Die” that raised further concerns about his health

Martin Lawrence desires to put an end to speculation and concrete legends about his health.

The flood of reactions to the comedy icon’s performance throughout the “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” press tour has confirmed many in the assumption that the artist is battling serious health problems.

The “Martin” creator previously tried to shut down banter about his perceived cognitive issues and unsteady gait by saying, “I’m fine. I’m in God’s hands. …I’m fine. There is no need for people to worry. …I’m healthy as hell. Stop the gossip!” when he appeared alongside Will Smith in an interview with Hot 97 earlier this month.

He again addressed speculation about his well-being when he and Smith appeared on “Sway’s Universe” on Friday, June 7, to advertise the fourth installment of their buddy cop series, which debuted in theaters.

After each men received compliments from Sway on how they still look great, Lawrence expressed his gratitude before sharing a couple of words about the continuing speculation.

“There is a rumor that I had a stroke. Man, that’s completely unfaithful,” he insisted. “So I just need to make clear this. But thanks all for your concern and love and just thanks. But Marty is fantastic.

To lighten the mood a bit, Smith added: “There’s also a rumor, but I wasn’t going to bring it up, that you are a clone. That was the one I heard. That you were cloned.

Lawrence replied, “Well, that’s artificial intelligence,” which drew laughter from the 2 actors and the show’s hosts.

However, online comments from longtime Def Comedy Jam supporters are divided on whether there may be more to his health claims.

Immediately one comment read: “Are you going to ask him what’s going on with his health, or are you just going to let him fake it during the interview?”

“It is probably not a stroke, but his words are completely slurred. Something is incorrect,” he wrote user X, believing Lawrence was withholding information. Third reaction he stated, “It’s good if he’s healthy and all, but we still do not have an evidence as to why his speech is slurred and other signs that clearly indicate something is occurring.”
