Pretty Lux Co. combines candle making with STEM education

Anikitia Abram, the visionary of Pretty Lux Co., skillfully combined her passion for creating luxury candles with the mission of supporting educational development in STEM.

Founded in July 2023, Pretty Lux Co. has the excellence of being the inaugural Black and women-owned candle studio in Central Georgia, setting a pioneering precedent for entrepreneurship and innovation. Abram’s inspiration was born from the need to share the harmonious combination of artistic peace and scientific exploration, creating products that nourish the spirit and skin.

“By integrating STEM with the art of making candles and skincare products, we aim to empower our community… The result is a unique space where creativity meets education, where customers can find products that will improve their well-being gaining insight into the science that makes them effective,” Abram said.

Pretty Lux Co.’s pioneering CandleSTEM collective. combines the artistic areas of making candles and skincare products with STEM learning. The program invites people of all age groups to take part in workshops and seminars that explore the science behind the on a regular basis products they use. Additionally, Pretty Lux Co. secured the chance to steer educational sessions on the Black Beauty STEMinist Symposia and Lab Intensive at Spelman College.

“Through these initiatives, we aim to empower and inspire the next generation of Black women in STEM by highlighting the importance of diversity in the fields of science and entrepreneurship,” Abram said.

Pretty Lux Co offers 100% vegan, cruelty-free products constituted of raw, natural ingredients and high-quality materials. Every product made at Pretty Lux Co. it is hand made from scratch and hand-cast.
