Cassie Breaks Silence on Diddy Attack Footage: ‘This Healing Journey Never Ends’
Casandra “Cassie” Ventura issued an announcement Thursday after the discharge of surveillance video showing her ex-boyfriend, Sean “Diddy” Combs, brutally assaulting her in 2016.
The singer, 37, took up the challenge Instagram she expressed her feelings for the primary time because the video was published on CNN on Friday. The video shows Combs kicking, pulling and throwing Ventura on the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles – actions that match the allegations made by Ventura against him in a November 2023 lawsuit that has since been settled.
“Thank you for all the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I haven’t met yet,” Ventura wrote. “The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe, but this is just the beginning.”
“Domestic violence is the BEST problem,” she continued. “It made me grow to be someone I never thought I’d grow to be. Thanks to numerous exertions, I’m higher today, but I’ll all the time recuperate from the past.
Cassie then expressed her support for all victims of violence, urging the general public to take heed to victims of violence once they come forward.
“My only prayer is that EVERYONE will open their hearts to believing victims the first time,” she wrote. “It takes a lot of heart to tell the truth in a situation where you were powerless. I offer my hand to those who still live in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should carry this burden alone.”
She concluded: “This healing journey never ends, but this support means everything to me.”
Her statement follows a public apology by Combs, 54, who responded to the video two days after it was posted. On Sunday, the tycoon posted an apology video on Instagram, expressing regret for his actions and saying the assault occurred throughout the “darkest time” of his life.

“I used to be screwed up. I mean, I hit all-time low, but I’m not making excuses,” Combs said in the video. “My behavior while watching this video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in this video. Indignant. I felt disgusted when I did it; Now I’m disgusted.”
Combs further added that he “sought professional help and went to therapy and rehab.”
“I had to ask God for his mercy and grace,” the music mogul concluded. “I’m very sorry, but I need to be a greater person. Every day.”
Since Ventura filed a lawsuit in November accusing Combs of rape, physical and emotional abuse and sex trafficking, Combs has been accused of sexual assault by multiple people in several lawsuits. He previously denied all allegations.
