Lizzo feels “good as hell” again. This week, the Grammy-winning singer took to Instagram to share an update on her mental health and thoughts on her travels.

“I’ve been the happiest I’ve been in 10 months,” she wrote post caption. “The strange thing about depression is that you don’t know you’re in it until you’re out of it. I’m definitely not as carefree as I used to be. But the dark cloud that followed me every day finally lifted.”

Although Lizzo rose to fame encouraging people to like themselves through her music, the singer shocked fans in April when she announced on social media that she was “leaving.”

“I’m tired of putting up with everyone in my life and on the internet dragging me down.” – we read in the statement. “All I would like is to make music, make people completely happy and help the world be a little bit higher than I discovered it. But I’m beginning to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.

After fans speculated that her post meant something way more serious than a possible departure from music, Lizzo later clarified the post’s intended meaning. To be sure that she is going to proceed to make music, the “About Damn Time” singer alluded to a few of her mental health issues at the time.

In addition to criticism over her weight, Lizzo has faced criticism over the past yr after she was accused in a lawsuit of sexual harassment. In August 2023, three of the star’s former dancers accused her of making a hostile work environment, citing claims of sexual harassment, body shaming and more. Describing the situation as “extremely difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing.” Lizzo has denied the accusations.

He claims that despite the legal challenges, Lizzo’s mental health has improved and he will likely be pouring that growth into his latest music.

“My smile is back in my eyes and that’s a victory,” she wrote in her last Instagram post. “I thought my album was finished… but I need to get rid of these good vibes quickly. Thank you for your patience ❤️.”
