Those of us who’ve been eagerly awaiting Andre 3000’s return can thank director and author John Ridley (), who forged him in a series regular on ABC, which premiered its second season last night. Ridley previously forged rapper and actor, the real-life Andre Benjamin, within the Jimi Hendrix biopic.

The second season of the Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated drama series tackles problems with sexual orientation and online bullying. Benjamin plays architect Michael Lacroix alongside Regina King, who plays his wife Terri. They are each the parents of Kevin (played by Trevor Jackson), a star athlete who was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting one other boy at his elite private school. Michael and Terri could have to mobilize to defend their son against the accusations.
